Apostles of Divine Mercy |
PURPOSE: To spread Our Lord’s message of Divine Mercy. Our Lord said “tell souls about this great Mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near.” (Diary, 965) PRIMARY GOAL: To tell the whole world about Our Lord’s inconceivable Mercy that is available on Divine Mercy Sunday, Our Lord’ said, “the soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day are open all the Divine floodgates through which graces flow. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet.” (Diary, 699) OUR PLEDGE: It is our office and assignment throughout our life to continue to make known to souls the great mercy Our Lord Has for them and to exhort them to trust in His bottomless mercy. Our assignment and duty here on earth is to plead for mercy for the whole world. WE PRAY: Eternal Father, transform and change me into the living presence and the message of mercy, to be an icon of mercy. In devotion to The Divine Mercy, we cry out, “Lord Jesus, have mercy on me, a sinner, that I may turn to You with trust and radiate Your mercy to others, Amen!” OUR LORD’S PROMISE TO THOSE WHO PROMOTE HIS MERCY: “Souls who spread the honor of My mercy I shield through their entire life as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior.” (Diary, 1075) OUR LORD’S PROMISE TO HELP: “Do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My mercy. I will make up for what you lack. Tell aching mankind to snuggle close to My merciful Heart, and I will fill it with peace.” (Diary, 1074) OUR LORD’S MESSAGE TO PRIESTS: “Tell My priests that hardened sinners will repent on hearing their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy, about the compassion I have for them in My Heart. To priests who proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wondrous power; I will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those to whom they will speak.” (Diary, 1521) COMMITTEES:
1. Start with “A Divine Mercy Prayer”: Most Merciful Jesus, Whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your Infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from it. We beg this of You by Your love, which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen. 2. Prayer of the Holy Spirit, “Come Holy Spirit”: Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth. Oh God, who has instructed the hearts of your faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may have a right judgment in all things and evermore rejoice in His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen. 3. Remind everyone of Matthew 12:36: “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account there of on the Day of Judgment.” 4. Welcome all fellow apostles to our prayer meeting. 5. Read the cover sheet (purpose and goals). 6. Report on committees. 7. Encourage all to participate to spread Our Lord’s message by writing letters, making calls or one on one. 8. Recite the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. 9. Thank everyone for coming. 10. End with the prayer to obtain graces through the intercession of Saint Faustina. O
Jesus, who filled Your handmaid Saint Faustina with profound veneration
for Your boundless mercy, deign, if it be Your holy will, to grant us,
through her intercession, the grace for which we fervently pray... COMMITTEES PARISH CELEBRATION COMMITTEE: This committee will help to organize, with the other parish personnel, Divine Mercy Sunday in the local parish. Announcements in the bulletin, a parish mission, videos, and providing information on the Plenary Indulgence are some of the things that could be done. DIOCESAN CELEBRATION COMMITTEE: This committee will request that the local bishop organize a diocesan-wide celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday. The diocese can announce the Plenary Indulgence for Divine Mercy Sunday in the diocesan publications and by using all of the mass media. NATIONAL CELEBRATION COMMITTEE: This committee will request from the Conference of Catholic Bishops, a nation-wide celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday. This board will also ask the local bishops to publicize, through the media, the Plenary Indulgence for Divine Mercy Sunday and Our Lord’s promise of the total forgiveness of sins and punishment to the soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion on this Feast of Divine Mercy. WORLD CELEBRATION COMMITTEE: This committee will request from the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship and the Holy Father, that the Plenary Indulgence for Divine Mercy Sunday be made known throughout the World to every Cardinal, Bishop, and Priest so that they may proclaim the good news of Our Lord’s unfathomable mercy. This group will also ask the bishops to request the same. PILGRIM IMAGE COMMITTEE: This committee will travel throughout the parish area with an Image of the Divine Mercy, with videos and information on Divine Mercy in an effort to spread the message to everyone. The Image and videos can travel to prayer meetings, private homes, nursing homes, or hospitals.
